Criteria for MetS were: waist circumference ≥ 102 cm, systolic blood pressure ≥ 130 mm Hg or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 85 mm Hg, HDL-C <1.03 mmol/l, triglycerides ≥ 1.7 mmol/l and fasting glucose ≥ 5.6 mmol/l.
